Life threatening situation? Always call 112

When is it urgent?

When is there an emergency?

You need emergency care if you suddenly develop symptoms that cannot wait until the next working day from your own doctor. Emergency means that you need urgent medical attention.

Examples of emergency situations:

  • You suddenly get symptoms that get worse quickly.
  • You have excruciating pain or severe shortness of breath.
  • Your child has a high fever, no longer urinates or reacts poorly.
  • You are chronically ill and your symptoms suddenly worsen.
  • You are so short of breath that you can no longer walk or talk properly.

It is therefore about complaints that have arisen suddenly, worsen quickly or if the pain/shortness of breath is unbearable.
