Life threatening situation? Always call 112

Cost

Every contact with the GP post will be charged. The basic insurance covers the costs of the GP and therefore also of the GP post. If you are insured, the bill goes directly to your health insurer.

Tourists and patients who cannot prove that they are insured or do not have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) must pay directly to the General Practitioner (by card). A receipt is given and the costs can be submitted to the health insurer yourself.

What is the difference between a triage consultation and a consultation?

Triage consultation: the triage nurse assesses the caller’s request for help and you will receive an explanation and advice from the triage nurse over the phone.

Consultation: the triage nurse will make an appointment for you at the General Practitioner. You will be examined by a general practitioner. Even if the GP has to delve into a medical file to be able to give good advice or to write a repeat prescription, this is calculated as a consultation.
N.B. GP emergency stations do not set their own rates. This is done by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa).

If a patient does not appear at the consultation, he or she will be charged.
